CALCIUM AMINO ACID CHELATE

CALCIUM AMINO ACID CHELATE: Ca 62 g/L : N 18 g/L : RS 137 g/L : AA 110 g/L

Wilchem Signature is a range of amino acid chelates. Amino acids are bidentate chelants – they form two bonds to the nutrient to form a “chelate ring”. The chelate ring is stronger than a single ionic bond, which protects the nutrient and maintains it in solution. Amino acid chelates increase nutrient uptake efficiency, leading to increase yield and quality.

Signature Calcium contains no Chlorides or Nitrates Amino Acid Chelates increase nutrient uptake efficiency Reduced sugars assist in mobilisation of Calcium within the plant.

Uses:

Wilchem Signature Calcium is used to correct and prevent calcium deficiency in a wide range of crops. Signature Calcium can be applied via fertigation foliar applications for viticultural and horticultural production where calcium deficiency may occur.

Directions for use:

Foliar sprays are the most effective way of applying Signature Calcium however, it is also suitable for fertigation as chelates reduce reactions in the soil solution making the nutrients more available and for a longer period.

Calcium Deficiency and Symptoms:

  • Calcium deficiency occurs mainly in low pH soils. High levels of magnesium, potassium and nitrogen can reduce availability of calcium.
  • Soft fruit, poor storage life and physical disorders
  • Lodging
  • Terminal buds and roots do not develop normally

The Function:

Calcium is essential for growing points, cell structure, cell wall function and strength. Calcium aids in cell division and elongation, practically in roots. Calcium is highly immobile in plants, and is most common in tree crops, fruit crops and vegetables.

Compatibility with Agricultural Chemicals:

Signature Calcium is compatible with a wide range of agricultural herbicides and pesticides. Check the Compatibility Guide as a reference. Always do a small jar test before preparing a full tank mix.

Other Details:

Liquid fertilizers can be corrosive to metals so flush equipment clean after use. Avoid inhaling fumes. Avoid contact with eyes and skin. Wash thoroughly with soap and water after handling. Protect from frost. Amino acids are an organic substance and over time some slight precipitation may occur. Do not store for extended periods in direct sunlight.
